Sandy’s impact will be mixed but moderate in Q4

Posted October 31, 2012 by rvillareal

Economic impact of hurricane Sandy (revised):  Even though the ultimate costs are far from known, hurricane Sandy will be one of the costliest on record   Some estimates put the hurricane at the fifth costliest in history with $5B to $10B in insured losses and $10B to $20B in economic losses.  This would be much worse than Irene in 2011 with only $4.5B in insured losses.  But this is dwarfed by Katrina with losses in excess of $100B.
