PPI: Huge 1.6% Jump
[private][private]
DE assessment: The PPI jumped 1.6% about double the market expectation as both energy and food prices soared. While the energy price jump was anticipated, the rise in food prices was not-the largest monthly gain since 1974. While the core increase was rather tame at 0.2%, the continuing acceleration in pipeline pressures points to some broad based acceleration in the PPI and CPI in the months to come.
