China’sConsumer Prices surged 1.5% YoY in October following a 0.7% rise in September, the highest since September 2020. While pork prices continued to fall, other food like fresh vegetables (15.9% YoY), fish (18.6% YoY) and eggs (14.3% YoY) soared. Higher energy prices also fueled headline inflation. Excluding Food and Energy, the Core CPI grew 1.3% YoY after a 1.2% rise.
Producer Prices continued to widen growth in October on soaring commodity prices, jumping 13.5% YoY after rising 10.7% and recording the fastest growth in 26 years.
