New Home Sales: A Weaker Trend?
December new home sales are unexpectedly weak, falling 7.0% (Consensus: -2.0%; Decision Economics: +3.4%) from a prior-month level revised down by 4.1%. Weather does not appear to have been an issue, with the Midwest actually showing a 17.6% sales increase–though on the heels of a 27.1% drop last month.
